media conglomerate

Walt Disney Company seems to be the largest media conglomerated with many other companies. They own many different things throughout the world. They are known for their movies, television channels, amusement parks, and studios. This company is seen as one of the most popular company because of how much they earn and how the promote their media and entertainment to the media. Walt Disney Company now owns many companies. They started as a animation studio and now has many studios and amusement parks all around the world. They even have their own official mascot which is very well known to the whole world. Not many companies can say that they are known by one mascot anywhere in the world. To be able to have everyone recognize Mickey Mouse must say how large Walt Disney is. They have bought bought many companies along the way of their success making them one of the biggest media conglomerate.

Potential problems that are seen within this company is that there are ownership issues. When the company buys out another, there is can cause many problems in what they want to do with their products or ideas. Other problems that might exist are that some might not agree with certain ideas to go out to the public. Because every company wants to attract more of the public, everyone has their own opinion on everything that they want to show. The larger the company, the more issues it arises within the company itself and the public.

Research question

Question: Media help increase HIV testing?

Hypothesis:
The media nowadays have a lot of influence on people. The media can make people change their minds on what they view things.

Method:
Survey the people that have HIV and ask if they were tested because of the media. Take the media of promoting HIV testing on commercials, radios, newspapers, etc. and see if it makes a difference. Take a few people and separate into different groups and show them different videos on HIV testing. These few methods might work to find the results, but mostly likely surveying the people who have taken the HIV testing and ask what made them do it.

Friday the 13th movie review

There are many versions of "Friday the 13th." Many people are just drawn to the excitement of fear within the plot. No matter how many times a person watches it, they will enjoy it the same. They want the adrenaline rush whenever they watch it. The remake of the movie made not be the same as the original and they always try to revamp it somehow. However, no matter how many times they remake the movie, it will never compare to the original. The movie starts off with a group of teens wandering through the woods. As the hike, they decide to rest and take camp at a very creepy camp site. Just as things settle at the camp, Jason begins his killing spree. As the movie goes on, it becomes more suspenseful and the characters are being killed. Throughout most of the movie, one main character searches for his sister, and along the way, finds another group of people also being hunted. Together they try to find a way out of the campsite. Because of the remake of the movie, people watching the movie would know what would happen and it would lose the suspense of what was coming next.
People want something different when it comes to remakes of movies. The characters a little more different, or even Jason being a little different in the movie. It can't really be that much of a difference from the original or else that beats the purpose of having a remake. Yes, there are more updated things in the movie, like new traits to Jason. However, the characters and the dialogue weren't so interesting to watch. For people wanting to watch "Friday the 13th," they are better off watching the original because it is better than the remake. As much as they try to revamp the movie and make it better, the original movie can't compare to what is out now.

Movie Review

One picture of the movie showed importance of one man. It was the picture that Alberto Korda took when he saw the body of Che Guevara. The reason that it became so famous, was because of how it was seen to the people. The photographer took the picture in an angle that made Che look like someone that looked immortal. Before it was taken, the photographer took into account of what was going on and did his job. However, he did it in such a way that people noticed certain things within the picture.
The picture that the photographer took, shows the people that he was seen as something of an importance, even though there are many people who can argue against it. Just because of the angle of the picture, how it was placed, and what is in the picture, it has made history. The photograph has made people more aware of Che Guervara as a revolutionist. Without such a photo, no one would recognize him as much. It made such a impact with one picture and it says a lot to people in the world. It shows that with such a simple, natural picture, it could make people appreciate it more.

How a Particular Medium has Changed My Life

There are many different types of medium that can have people influenced. There are television, film, comic books, radio, or even ipods that can just change one person in many ways. Whatever a person listens to, watches, reads, or sees on the television, they are bound to be influenced in some ways. The mediums in the world has affected many people to the point that some would say that they cannot live without a certain show, or book, or even songs that they listen to all the time. Not only do they rely on these, people are influenced that their mood or attitude changes whenever they hear a certain song, or even watch a certain movie.
The one medium that has changed my life would be the television. Almost everyone in the world is influenced by the television. We watch certain shows and relate to certain things. Even certain situations that I watch can become something I notice or be aware of in the real world. Even though there are certain things on television that is not likely to happen, people still get influenced by it and become more careful of certain situations. Sometimes I would wonder when a situation occurs on a television and how they resolve it, would it work in my life. Of course, nothing is planned like it is on the television because it is not real. We even talk about the characters as if they were real or that they are our friends. Television also influences people with commercials that advertise certain things for people to buy or use. It can influence people in many ways because not only does it show situations and conversations that would possibly work in my life, buy it also shows and advertises movies we should watch, items that we should get, and certain foods to eat. If no one watched the television, and were influenced by it, stores, restaurants, and movie theaters would not get as much income. I know that I have been impacted by the television with what I watch and what I buy because it is difficult to avoid.
The television is definitely one of the most influential medium because of everything listen to and watch. No matter what, people will always be watching the television constantly, while being influenced by everything seen on it. People cannot avoid it, unless they choose to ignore everything that see.
